The lecture describes the flow of a Uighur marriage and explains what this tells us about the lives of people in Kashgar, its values​​, problems and structures.

Rune Stenberg graduated from the University of Berlin for a master degree in ethnology and anthropology-geography (2004-2009), earned a Ph.D. at the Graduate School Muslim Cultures and Societies and the ZELF (Centre for Development Research) of the Free University (2009-2014). He is currently a Fellow at the Crossroads Asia Network (ZEF Bonn University and ZELF the FU Berlin). His research focuses on Central Asia, China, exchange, kinship, social networks and spatiality.
