ski – stadtkultur international ev is an independent association working together with partners in relevant topics. Together with the Heinrich Boell Stiftung, a continuous cooperation with the Architectural Society of China (ASC), was developed. German-Chinese symposiums and workshop series were organized together on architecture and urban development.
At CLB Berlin – an exhibition and event space at Aufbau Haus with the main focus on art, cultural practice and urbanism – stadtkultur international ev organizes international public events.
Exhibitions in cooperation with the Aedes East Forum for International Architecture and the Alexander Ochs Galleries Berlin/Beijing, present the rapid changes and new influences Chinese cities are experiencing.
A new level of dialogue was introduced by collaborating with the German-Chinese Culture Network. Between October 2009 and 2012, ski supplied the network with regular articles on architecture and urban development projects in Germany and China. In addition, ski and the German-Chinese Culture Network jointly conducted the exhibition “城市漫步 – City Moves – Urban Bewegt – Snapshots of Urban Spaces in Shanghai, Beijing, and Berlin” (Berlin 2010). This exhibition has been documented online by the German-Chinese Culture Network: http://www.goethe.de/ins/cn/lp/kul/mag/dis/cim/enindex.htm
Another partner is the Center for Cultural Studies on Science and Technology in China at the Technische Universität Berlin. Joint projects include a German-Chinese seminar on “City Walls – Opportunity for Urban Renewal and Historic Preservation” as well as “China in 6.4 Minutes”, a contribution to the Long Night of the Sciences in Berlin 2012 and 2013.
